FIRST FRAME – First-year media design students screen their documentaries at the cinema!

Film students from Hanover University of Applied Sciences and Arts will be screening their first documentaries at Koki Hannover on 24 June 2026 at 6 pm.

The following four documentaries will premiere on the evening:

Schall & Rauch. The film follows a band over a weekend as they strive for professionalism. Whilst recording their first album, the band navigates the tension between deepening friendships, technical hurdles and questions of their own identity.

Im Takt der Hufe. This film follows police officer Carla and her service horse Kaspar from the Hannover Mounted Police Unit. It shows their intensive training, which aims to strengthen their bond of trust and prepare Kaspar optimally for future operations.

Zwischen Ankommen und Weiterziehen.The film follows Miriam as she volunteers to help stray dogs from Hungary. The film documents her tireless struggle to find the animals a new, loving home.

Die Choreo, die niemand sieht. The camera follows organiser Raik as he organises a major dance event in Braunschweig. Despite months of time-consuming planning in the run-up to the event, the film shows that a smooth running of things behind the scenes is never guaranteed.
