"Back to Happiness" and "Falling on Your Heart" at the Documentary Film Festival at Spiegel.tv

The final films of the master students Hannah Thiemig and Nina Reckemeyer can currently be seen on the Open Doku platform of Spiegel - TV.

"Back to Happiness" is about so-called co-dependency. This approach describes how partners, children and close friends of addicts often also become addicted. They neglect themselves and take intensive care of the caregiver. In Germany alone, there are said to be up to eight million co-dependents. Filmmaker Hannah Thiemig portrays three young women: Hanna, Janina and Manuela grew up in families where alcohol determined everyday life. Despite their turbulent childhoods, they never gave up hope. Because the protagonists in "Back to Happiness" reveal many details of their youth biographies, the director does not show any of the faces of the three young women.

In "Aufs Herz gefallen," two women tell of their heartbreak, which does not subside even after several years. Sylvia, 55, tells of a relationship as the permanent lover of a family man. Luise, 31, can't get away from her ex-partner emotionally, even though he beat and humiliated her." (Spiegel TV)

Wilfried Köpke and Nils Loof are responsible for editing and coaching the two films.
